Drawings and designcalculations forFRP/GRP tanks

Stackply Solutions is building BlueComEx: DrawEx for 2D engineering drawings and DesignEx for EN 13121 compliant design calculations. It is built on more than a decade of FRP/GRP tank engineering.

The record behind it

A decade of FRP/GRP tank work, now in software

Our founder, Vasanthkumar K, brings more than a decade of FRP/GRP tank engineering practice. BlueComEx turns that practice into structured, repeatable software.

BlueComEx

Two modules, one focus: FRP/GRP tanks

Each module does one job well. Both are in development, and their output supports engineering review rather than replacing it.

Module 01

In development

DrawEx

2D engineering drawings for FRP/GRP tanks

General arrangement drawings and detail sheets for vertical and horizontal tanks, built from structured tank data, with one layout and line-weight hierarchy on every sheet.

  • Vertical and horizontal tank GA drawings
  • Nozzles, manholes and accessories with a nozzle schedule
  • Pipes, bends, reducers and tees
  • Revisioned issues, earlier revisions kept

Module 02

In development

DesignEx

EN 13121 compliant design calculations

Design calculations for FRP/GRP tanks based on EN 13121. Each calculated value is checked against its clause, and any item that fails is flagged for engineering review.

  • Laminate thickness for each tank section
  • Seismic and wind load calculation
  • Nozzle reinforcement
  • Structured design reports

DesignEx seismic and wind load screen: tank and site inputs, a load diagram of the tank, and a results table with a pass or fail status for each value.

How DesignEx works

From design inputs to a reviewable result

  1. Step 1: Enter the design inputs

Tank dimensions, media, seismic zone, wind parameters, raw materials, layer sequence and safety factors, with guidance as you fill them in.

  2. Step 2: Calculate against EN 13121

DesignEx works out laminate thickness, loads and nozzle reinforcement, and checks each value against its EN 13121 clause.

  3. Step 3: Review the result

Failed items are flagged, and a structured design report goes to your engineers for review and sign-off.

Why Stackply

Software that respects engineering judgement

  • Structured

Replace spreadsheet dependency with one structured, traceable way to prepare a design.

  • Repeatable

The same inputs follow the same steps on every project, so results stay consistent across teams.

  • Reviewable

Every check and every drawing revision stays readable, so your engineers can review the work.

DesignEx is a calculation tool, not finite element analysis (FEA) and not a certification. Its output supports, and does not replace, review by a qualified engineer.

FAQ

Questions, answered

What Stackply is building, what DesignEx needs from you, and how to reach us.

Which modules is Stackply building?

Stackply Solutions is building BlueComEx, an engineering software environment for the FRP/GRP industry.

Two modules are in development:

  • DrawEx - 2D engineering drawings for FRP/GRP vertical and horizontal tanks.
  • DesignEx - EN 13121 compliant design calculations for FRP/GRP tanks.
What will DesignEx do?

DesignEx is being built to help users check design compliance as per EN 13121 by automatically calculating the necessary design loads and engineering parameters.

The software also guides users while entering technical specifications, helping improve accuracy, consistency, and repeatability in the design process.

Its output supports, and does not replace, review by a qualified engineer. The scope of this module includes:

  • Vertical FRP/GRP tanks
  • Horizontal FRP/GRP tanks
What are the inputs required?

Users are required to enter the necessary design and material inputs, including:

  • Tank dimensions
  • Media specifications
  • Seismic zone details
  • Wind parameters
  • Raw material specifications
  • Layer sequence
  • Safety factors
  • Other project-specific design requirements

These inputs are used by the software to perform calculation checks and generate standards-driven design outputs.

Why choose Stackply Solutions?

Stackply Solutions is backed by strong technical and industry experience in FRP/GRP tank design and engineering.

Key strengths include:

  • More than a decade of technical expertise
  • 100+ technical consultations in tank design
  • 500+ tanks designed
  • In-house laboratory support
  • Practical understanding of FRP/GRP engineering workflows
What is the price?
